Mechatronics Design Lab

AUTONOMOUS RACECAR

Overview

In the Spring of 2015, I decided to use my last semester after graduating from UC Berkeley to focus on a class I've always wanted to take: EE192 - Mechatronics Design Lab. The class was a blend of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. We built our own chassis, mounts; designed and fabbed our own driver board; and coded our own velocity, steering control.

The fully assembled car!

Results

Our team, Team 7 (with Frank Lu and Byung Gon Song), finished 5th out of 18 competing teams at the 2015 West Coast Regional Finals Freescale Cup and had the fastest 'unofficial' recorded time on our class track of 34.45 seconds! Overall, I was incredibly proud of our results and cannot recommend this class enough.
